Family Workshop: Headdress Decorating
Monday 3rd & 10th August: Drop-in Session1pm - 3pm (tbc)

Join us for an afternoon of arts and crafts and come and make a headdress for the Lantern Parade in November (yes, we’re super organised this year!)

Booking Coming Soon! - Sign up below to be among the first to find out when our 2026 workshops launch…

What to Expect

During the workshop families will be giving the opportunity to decorate a light up Headdress which will be used as part of Farsley’s Lantern Parade at the Christmas Lights Switch On.

Kids can get stuck in with some messy play, glueing and sticking paper to decorate their own headdress which can be strung with fairy lights.

The headdresses will need to be left to dry and be stored safely. But never fear, we’ll take great care to label each one with the creators name so they can be collected again on the night of 25th November from your child’s school to be worn in the parade.

Children at the workshop will also get the chance to make and decorate a music shaker for the Harvest Festival using rice and a recycled plastic bottle.

These sessions are perfect for primary school aged children who love to craft!

Location & Price

The workshop will take place in the hall at Farsley Springbank Primary School.

The hall is accessible by ramp and there’s disabled parking in the school car park.

Snacks and drinks will be available to purchased on the day from our Tuck Shop - all proceeds will go towards this year’s Lanterns.

Prices include materials & staffing fees;

  • Children: £3

  • Adults & Under 2s: Free
