Join us for 2025’s Lantern Parade at Farsley’s Christmas Lights Switch On!
Wednesday 26th November, 6pm - 8pm
The annual Lights Switch On is a much-love annual event which is now in its 36th year.
This brilliant community event attracts over 8000 visitors to Farsley each year.
Following on from 2024’s success, 2025’s attendees can expect to see colourful and twinkling ‘Children’s Literature’ themed giant lanterns within the parade!
The lanterns have been created by local school children & volunteers over the last 6 weeks and we can’t wait to showcase them at this year’s Light Switch On!
Timings:
Town Street will be closed to traffic from beyond the Library to the Cenotaph, 4.30pm - 8pm
The Schools, floats & lanterns start to meet at The Library from 5.45pm
Many shops & businesses will have stalls outside to buy refreshments, arrive early to get settled in and find a spot on the pavement to watch the parade
The Main Stage in Andrew’s Court will have entertainment from 6pm including Farsley Singers & Breeze
Discover a Christmas Market in Sunny Bank Mills from 6pm
The parade sets off from the Library at 6.15pm, walking down to the Cenotaph the back up to exit at Wesley Street
Lights Switch On takes place from the Main Stage at approx 7pm, Fireworks to follow
Road reopens at 8pm
