🐛 FARSLEY LANTERN PARADE VOLUNTEERS 2025 🦋
Thank you to everyone who has donated funds to help pay for materials or joined us at our Willow Workshops over the past 6 weeks!
Your generosity, time & creativity has made this year’s Lantern Parade possible!
❤️ WE’D LOVE YOU TO JOIN THE PARADE
This year’s parade takes place on Wednesday 26th November at 6.15pm from Farsley Library.
We’d love you to join us to showcase the Lanterns to the community!
All the info Wed 26th Nov:
Choose your Lantern (Below): Select which Lantern you’d like to carry and use the check out to secure it as yours for the night.
Please note: Some lanterns are heavier than others, the Rabbit & Fox Backpacks can’t be swapped out half way through so only choose if you are strong!
All others can be swapped between you so bring a friend to buddy up with so you can take rests from carrying if needed.
Stewards Needed: You can also select to be a steward to help us keep people in position / the parade moving (doesn’t involve any carrying).
Collection Point on the Night: Lanterns / High Vis can be collected from St John’s Church on New Street (opposite Co-op) from 5.30pm
Please note: Town Street will be closed to traffic from beyond the Library to The Cenotaph from 4.30pm - 8pm. If you are driving into Farsley please plan your route / parking options to avoid closures.
Join the Back of the Parade: Once you have collected your lantern from the Church please join the BACK OF THE PARADE at the Library and look out for Alex & her megaphone who will get everyone in position!
Parade sets off at 6.15pm: The parade will do one lap from the Library down to the Cenotaph.
Exit for the large lanterns: The Owl, Fox, Rabbit, Butterfly & Books etc. will peel off into Sunny Bank Mills via the entrance that leads to Record Plant. The Lanterns will then be placed in Old Woollen via their back door, where they’ll be stored over night.
Finish: We except the parade will conclude at approx 6.40pm. Activities will continue up and down the high street until the road re-opens at 8pm
